Complete absence of teeth on the upper or lower jaw
If you are missing all teeth in your jaw (or jaws) there are two options of implant treatment to replace them:
1. Tooth replacement with implant supported removable dentures
In this case implants provide a firm and stable retention of the removable denture (overdentures) with the use of locks.
A lower overdenture usually requires placement of 2 to 4 implants, and an upper overdenture – from 4 to 6 implants.
Although the implant overdenture remains stable and immobile in everyday life, it can be eventually removed for cleaning and other hygienic procedures.

2. Teeth replacement with an implant supported fixed bridge
In this case multiple implants can be placed across the jawbone to provide support for a fixed bridge. The number of implants necessary for a fixed bridge varies from 6 to 12 on the lower jaw and 8 to 12 on the upper jaw. The bridge is secured to the implants with cement or screws .
The implant supported fixed bridge provides a stable fixation and fits extremely well into the mouth, it is an optimal solution from both functional and aesthetic points of view.
